WRONG PLACE, WRONG TIMEWhen Set wanders, it pays little mind to its neighbors. It will disappear and destabilize entire solar systems with its sheer absence, leaving orbital dependencies in tatters. When it reappears, its sheer mass and paranormal behavior rearrange its new home to the whims of gravity. On occasion, a planet is destroyed in the process. On occasion, that planet is inhabited. The sorassan are one of the few alien species on Set that have lived to tell this tale - and were only mildly inconvenienced in the process. The sorassan are the fourth most common intelligent species on Set's surface, coming in just behind the redworlders. They are squat quasi-humanoids with full sentience, sapience, and self-awareness. Despite being scarcely much different from humans and other mainstay intelligent species in behavior, the sorassan are outcasts, both on Set and above it. This stems from one, simple, unavoidable fact of their biology; the sorassan can literally think machines to death - usually on accident. As a result, their presence on spacecraft - and, therefore, in orbit - is negligible. They exist primarily planetside, where human xenophobia and limited access to technology have helped keep their numbers in check.
