This topic is a child of the Pseudocrustaceans article directory.TOO MUCH, TOO FASTThere is no dominant crab society on Set. Handfuls of crab nations exist - in various states of total war with their neighbors and surroundings - but few have any cohesion or recognition. Languages evolve and die on a monthly basis. Naming conventions are limitless. Even common slurs are simply impossible to count - and few are fit for polite company. Officially, sentient pseudocrustaceans qualify as a critical ecological disaster for Loonies on the ground, while the Space Loonies put them on par with a meat monster outbreak aboard orbiting ships. The Cult of Meat, meanwhile, utterly refuses to acknowledge their existence. Pseudocrustaceans are known variously as crabs, lobsters, and other crustacean-related nicknames. "Crab" is often used for squat, rounded pseudocrustaceans. "Lobster" is preferred for longer individuals, which make up a small plurality of most species. "Shrimp", as is appropriate, is often used to describe smaller pseudocrustaceans. "Krill" regularly supplants it for aquatic variations. Curiously, "crawdad" is used more commonly for larger specimens, usually those in excess of average human height. Many Looney bunkers officially recognize "crawdad" as a term for pseudocrustaceans weighing in excess of 1 ton.
