What are tags?
Tags are small acronyms or abbreviations put before a topic title to help identify which setting(s) the topic's contents are set in. They help other people navigate the roleplaying forums when they want to review topics for a particular setting. For example, a topic with "[ANCH]" before its name is set in the Anchorage universe.
How should I tag my topics?
Pick a unique acronym or abbreviation for your setting and stick to it. It should be easy to identify and short in length to keep your topic titles from getting too cluttered. Remember that tags are established on a first-come, first-serve basis. If someone's already taken a tag that your setting would best use, you'll have to find something different.
Topics that are not constrained to a single setting should use the "[LOOSE]" tag. Topics that are valid under multiple settings should use the "[MULTI]" tag. Remember that a topic must be deemed canon by the original author of whatever setting it is present in!
What should I know about setting ownership?
There are no special rules regarding setting ownership outside of common etiquette. The original author of a setting is its absolute ruler, with the power to deem any works under their setting's umbrella as canon or non-canon. If there are multiple founding authors for a setting, their authority is jointly shared and it is up to them to determine who has the final say. Authors may transfer custody of their settings to others as desired, but are strongly advised to heavily consider any ownership transfers before finalizing them.
