SUMMARY
Sabik Nerax is a freelance mercenary, just as his host before him. Unlike his host before him, however, Sabik has been working tirelessly on a quest of self improvement. Not to become a better person, mind you, but to become stronger physically. He’s undergone a fair bit of bio-enhancement, in an attempt to remove his ‘weaknesses’. He travels Set in search for both work, and ways he can further improve himself.
APPEARANCE
He is a stocky fellow, short, but full of muscle (and wax). His skin is sickly pale, and his head is bald. His left eye is a greyish blue, and his right is covered by an eyepatch. He wears a brown-orange duster coat, and a black tricorn hat. There was once a feather on the hat, but it seems to have been burnt off at some point. He’s got some beige trousers, held up by a belt that contains most of his worldly possessions, which includes a rather long dagger (probably a shortsword on him), and an assortment of syringes, some of them even full. What it doesn't carry would be his CVD-90/7, which he keeps on with a strap around his shoulder.
BEHAVIOR
Sabik is a lousy shot, so he prefers getting up close and personal with any of his various problems. He’s the kind of person to prefer the quickest and most direct solutions, but if he were to actually think, he could probably get a lot done. Surprisingly, he’s also rather skilled in medicine, and is pretty good at working with stims and other various drugs. He’s spirited, and overall pretty friendly, but he is constantly plagued by an inferiority complex, given to him by his host.
GOALS
- Ultimately, he wants To live in a stronger body. Whether this is through exercise, modification, or even surgery to put himself in another, nothing is out of the question.
- This singular goal is currently the only driving force behind his actions. Everything else is a means to an end. Who knows if he'll even be satisfied?
RELATIONSHIPS
- He honestly doesn't remember anything about his host's family. Perhaps his host never thought about it much?
- So far, he's been clean in his transactions, and hasn't found any work thats put him in any bad positions. That he knows of, anyway.
- He's a pretty friendly fellow, and doesn't really have any prejudices. He is a bit jealous of Unionites and their mutability
- Nerax died a runt and a coward. Sabik Nerax, didn't stay long enough to change that impression
- Not Yet!
HISTORY
Sabik developed as a parasite in the body of a young, runt of a mercenary. His was a stable connection, causing little trouble for his host while he grew and developed… It was the Host themselves who proved troublesome. The smallest in his band, Nerax was desperate to prove himself to his companions. Too desperate, one could say, as he attempted to prove himself through the warzone that is The Chopping Block. A pointless, suicidal effort, that ended with him dying in fear and loathing, and a bullet in their head. Such is the fate of many mercenaries who have tried brave the Blocks.
Sabik, however unharmed by the trauma, was profoundly affected by Nerax’s dying emotions. He arose with a deep frustration with himself. An annoyance with his limited capabilities. Believing his husk to be weak, he resolved to change this by any means. From strict diet and exercise, to steroids and other performance enhancers nothing is off-limits for him (in part due to his greater control over his body’s nervous system). Yet, he is still not satisfied. He wanders now, continuing his host life, as a freelancer, in hopes of finding new ways to make himself stronger...
He didn't wander for particularly long, perhaps a year. He ended up in a place called Ditch, which was suitably named, for it had him quite stuck. In that frozen tundra he might have said, had he not had a fateful encounter with a van, full of wanderers on their way north. With the promise of survival, and a chance at achieving his dream, he ended up traveling with them for a short while. But temptation proved too much: The passengers of the van had a sizable bounty, which presented itself as an even greater opportunity. Sabik Nerax made a fatal slip, and attempted to bring Ves in to the agents of Cloneston, hoping he could grab her quickly, and earn a new body. The Red Worlder, and their companions proved too formidable, and he met his end in the Honey Hills.
