Nadezdha T. Nimitz
Aliases: Holiday
Affiliation: Set People's Assistance Corps, Medical Division
Species: Human Female
Birthplace: Set
Height: 6', 2" (1.87m)
Weight: 192lb (87.8kg)
SUMMARY
Fiercely tenacious and highly motivated, Nadezdha is a staunch proponent of fellowship and good will among man and considers herself one of humanity's finest advocates.
APPEARANCE
Standing just over 6'2 and with a heavy-set, masculine physique, Nadezdha cuts an imposing figure, often choosing to dress in various suit jackets and slacks that emphasize her upbringing.
A mane of onyx hair contrasts her unusually pale skin and face, both of which are covered in a number of scars of varying age. Her eyes are a dull hazel.
In high-risk situations she makes use of an armoured exoskeleton designed for humanitarian efforts in dangerous environments. Painted in the traditional colors of medical corps everywhere and emblazoned with a red cross, the suit is constructed in overlapping layers. It is a sealed system, capable of extravehicular and submersible activity or operations in toxic atmosphere. It is hardened against EMP and radiation, and has filters that are completely effective at removing toxins and bacteria from local atmosphere.
The armor's outer shell is composed of a multilayer alloy of remarkable strength and has been augmented with a refractive coating capable of dispersing a limited amount of energy weapon strikes. The suit contains a gel-filled layer underneath a thick black armored bodysuit. The gel layer regulates temperature and can re-actively change its density. The inner skinsuit is made of a moisture-absorbing synthetic material linked to an environment control computer and the occupant's neural interface.
As a final note, it comes equipped with an integrated three-slot canister launcher on the right forearm, usually loaded with tactical smoke grenades or tear gas.
RELATIONSHIPS
All traces of Nadezdha's psyche profiles have been scrubbed from any and every database; a uniquely incriminating facet of her character that has raised suspicion before, but has never publicly amounted to anything. Witnesses and patients claim the doctor is a humorless, paranoid, irritable person that cares for little else save her work, while others have claimed her to be a regular saint who selflessly devotes her life to medicine and easing the suffering of others, quick to laugh and easy to talk to. The varying accounts have left some scratching their heads, but aside from those quirks, nary a soul has ever questioned the medic on account of how effective her methods have proven to be over the years.
Having grown up on Set, somewhere around the 3km Below area of the Underground, Nadezdha Taisia Nimitz is a character with precious little public history. She was born to a family deeply ingrained in the dark underworld of the planet that had grown rich off illicit weapons dealings and underhanded politics. She was a sickly child, diagnosed with a degenerative disease that made her bones brittle and her organs incapable of properly processing nutrients. She was not expected to live more than five years, but the child persisted for six before succumbing to her condition. Nadezdha was clinically deceased for a period of sixteen hours as her grieving parents called upon every favor they had ever made to find help for their daughter.
Whatever happened is not clear, as the doctors overseeing the child were found dead later in the month, but the girl miraculously returned to life and began to show drastic, almost immediate signs of improvement, as well as a polarizing shift in personality (speculated to have been caused by her "death") - almost as if she were a new person entirely. Some medical experts presume that her parents paid for illegal military grade procedures such as carbide ceramic ossification to save her life, but these rumors were deemed highly improbable for the time and place.
Regardless, the girl went on to become one of the premier medical professionals in Set's history, accruing renown, respect, and in some cases, reverence for her knowledge and skill in modern medicine.
All of this changed when a rival gang that had appeared almost overnight attacked her family's holdings, seizing or destroying the vast majority of her inheritance and resulting in the deaths of her parents. Nadezdha disappeared for several years, only recently resurfacing - to the shock of some - as a field medic in the employ of the infamous Duke of Sausage. She has since moved on to further contract work.[/ul]
