The role model for a well-adjusted sentient species on Set has five fingers and a bad attitude. Compared to high-pressure hellscapes and barren moons out in the wider galaxy, Set is a garden world. The foliage is familiar, the animals are edible, and the weather tends to stay below boiling in most places. Humans can eat anything, live anywhere, and make a mess out of everything they want. Not one other species is as flexible on the surface as the angry apes.
Relative to others, humans are renowned for being tough and adaptable. Other races know them as noisy, obnoxious, and wily. Beyond that, they're considered the centerpoint for all other intelligent species; the metric by which everything else is compared. As the majority share on the planet and the loudest voice in the room, nobody else can argue. Even the redworlders aren't ones to make a stink about it. If it could be said about humans, it could be said about them.
