Hit It Big
The Jaskob & Fletcher Bombing was an attack on the Jaskob & Fletcher Tower, in the city of Sazheider on Argannei, on September 3rd, 2202 A.F. The attack targeted the primary company offices of Niskev Security Specialists and Vensico Telecommunications, the two primary tenants of the J&F Tower. The attack left 43 people dead, 15 wounded, and was ultimately responsible for the dissolution of both Niskev and Venisco. To this day, the assailants involved remain without positive identification and are believed to still be at large.
The attack is believed to have been carried out by mercenaries on a contract to clear out the structure for a rival corporation, but possible employers have yet to be named. It began at 3:04AM with the release of an improvised nerve gas into the building's ventilation system, which accounted for an estimated total of 14 deaths by the time of its full dispersal at 3:18AM. At 3:20AM, the gas was ignited, resulting in a wave of explosions throughout the building that left an additional 8 dead and 6 wounded. Following the explosions, a general evacuation was ordered that sent the majority of the tower's staff out into the streets.
By the time the evacuations had finished at roughly 3:40AM, the J&F Tower was attacked by two gunmen in powered armor in an aggressive floor-by-floor sweep of the offices. Private security operating under Niskev employment attempted to force the intruders out, but were ultimately routed to the upper floors and killed indiscriminately. The assault accounted for 15 deaths and 9 wounded, the remainder of the casualties in the incident. Afterwards, at roughly 4:10AM, the mercenaries withdrew from the building. Sazheider police and guardsmen from the local Federal Guard garrison arrived at 4:23AM and began work assisting evacuations.
The mercenaries were later determined to be independent contractors, but a motive for the attack was never fully established. Likewise, the identities of the mercenaries were never confirmed. In the months after the attack, Niskev and Vensico folded, freeing up their shares in the Jaskob & Fletcher Tower. The J&F Tower continues to function to this day despite the incident behind it.
