SEND IN THE CLONES
Near the heart of the Darimesan continent is an enormous wasteland of industrial by-products, deranged mutants, and half-finished construction projects. Thousands of kilometers of polluted badlands stretch across the continent unbroken, layered over by toxic snow at its southernmost borders. At its eastern edge, a colossal city rises perilously into the skies above, nearly as vast as it is tall. The lights of countless homes, police stations, and businesses paint the sky a perpetual sickly orange all around it. Air traffic buzzes incessantly between monolithic skyscrapers and high-rises. From outside, it seems a beacon of order; a final bastion of genuine civilization on Set's disparate landscape.
Inside, it is no more than the chaos of the wasteland around it, consolidated into an unrivalled dystopia. Backwards artificial intelligences rule the city, squabbling endlessly over simple logistics. Crime syndicates and hackers hold claim to countless petty kingdoms, some of them literally in the city's underworld. Vicious monsters run rampant through the bottom-most levels of the city, preying on anyone and anything that might fall from its towering heights. Massed armies of cloned policemen respond brutally, overwhelmingly, and senselessly to even the most trivial of crimes. The vertical Hell in Darimesa is known by only one, simple name; Cloneston.
The official logo of Cloneston's many police departments. Often found stenciled onto clone equipment. Its origin is unknown, and many derivatives can be found across the city.
