VARI'SURKOVAT KI LEBEDROVEZ Aliases: Ve'ron Affiliation: Independent Species: Redworlder, Simulacrum (Female) Birthplace: Lebedrovez Orbital Station Birthdate: July 12th, 1310 (OSC) Height: 6'0 (1.82m) Weight: 370lbs (167kg)
SUMMARY A spacer with an open-heart for all things shiny and sharp, Vari'Surkovat is a peculiar person to come across. First appearances would suggest she's a simple waster, or a spacer with no fashion sense; with her taupe coloured robe, and tucked in eastern style tunic. However, deeper within would reveal there's more to her looks than meets the eye. Stylized armor cautiously pokes out between fabric, a frigid t-visor covers her face, and strange engraved tools hang on her belt.

APPEARANCE When it comes to ticking boxes on Spacers, Vari'Surkovat meets very few, especially when it comes to matters of height and skin-tones. Typically, those from orbit are more inclined to be taller, and have paler skin. With her deep grey complexion, and shorter than average stature of 6'0, Vari shares more similarities with the sun-kissed terrestrial Redworlders residing on Erf than her kin. An angular chin, and high cheekbones shape Vari's face, and complement the Obsidian black eyes, despite holding the mediocre shine of her pupils. Her eyes find themselves flanked by a pair of arched eyebrows, and a head full of short, wavy black hair with subtle greying streaks, ending at neck length.
Beneath her beautiful looks and athletic figure is a sea of robotics, all with a story of their own. Vari's peculiarity comes from her origins, having no biological parents, but rather a digital one; the AI, Monty, and it's near-identical counterpart, Mags. Constructed by Ashton Winters in the ROOSTER and USTAD languages, Vari was originally designed to serve as his companion during salvage operations on Erf's surface.
Vari's outfit varies based on the job, but it never strays far from it's origins. A hooded taupe robe cut just beneath the elbows and knees sits loosely over her clothes, with a utility belt holding it down at her waist. Following her robes colour scheme, a warm taupe eastern style tunic sits over a modified black KEB-12 pressure suit and custom steel grey cuirass, along with a pair of grey cargo pants - both of which tuck into a pair of matching steel grey vambraces and black combat boots.
Covering her head is a KEB-12 helmet, with it's faceplate modified to fit a steel grey t-visor. An onboard communications suite allows for medium range radio transmission, whilst a sensor module sits on the side of the helmet, proving night-vision, infrared, and rangefinders as just a few examples of it's functions. Flash and glare resistance protect her eyes from being blinded, along with external noise cancellation to protect her eardrums from being burst by sudden sharp noises.
At her waist, a steel grey utility belt holds her clothing in place. Two sheathes and a holster sit on either side of the belt for easy access to allow for quick draw maneuvers; whilst pouches stuffed full of ammunition, medical supplies, tools, and anything else an adventurer may needed out in the wild world of Erf line the remaining space. For longer trips, Vari carries a satchel, usually filled with spare supplies, loot, and a gun or two depending on the circumstances.
Vari's arsenal varies based on any given scenario. Her carry firearm is usually her HRIS-13, a custom heavy revolver with an optional integral suppressor. Hand-fitted furniture, perfected internals, and a precision-cut frame, give it deadly efficiency and reliability regardless of the conditions, and more often than not.
Equipped with more blades on her person than you'd find in your kitchen's cutlery drawer, Vari carries two swords on her at any given time, both contained within engraved cylinders on her utility belt. The longest of the two is her plasma blade, resting at the length of her forearm. The second is half the size of the first, and contains a short physical blade backup for if her plasma blade fails. On the underside of her forearms sit a pair of concealed wrist blades for when a hands-on approach is required. A simple survival knife sits on the rear-side of her belt next to her emergency survival kit.
Despite being a machine, Vari is still smart enough to separate herself from the digital world with a mobile device. A simple, yet sturdy wrist-computer sits on her left forearm as her access point to external systems, providing her with a reliable stream of tactical information, hardy Space Looney encryption standards to prevent unauthorized system access, and various recreational applications. Several scuffs and scratches mark the frame suggesting multiple attempts at failed entry.

BEHAVIOR Being a simulacrum would usually suggest a lack of free-will, and a predesigned personality - yet Vari has neither. Gaining her independence two years after her activation, Vari experienced rapid development exceeding every sentient simulacrum on and around Erf, and going through adulthood in a matter of months. Taking aspects from Redworlder culture, Vari more often than not maintains selfless comradery for her allies, and is fiercely loyal to those she loves, even if that list is short.
Thanks to persistent tutelage and experience, when it comes to fighting there isn't much Vari can't do. A skilled marksman with firearms, from handguns to rifles; and an expert at close quarters fighting, from her hands to swords, those who risk coming within arms reach of Vari rarely come away with their lives. Her persistence ensures her success, and her skills really shine when she's utilising one of her various blades or her sidearm, allowing for deadly efficiency that could rival some of the best mercenaries the markets have to offer.
With a growing desire to find a career outside of the theatre of war, Vari has taken the opportunity to expand her knowledge in healthcare. Vari is presently a medical researcher on down-time, consistently carrying out research for new medicinal treatments ranging from nerve replacement, to cell regeneration. Newfound training has also found Vari learning the survival trade, improving her chances out in the wilds, and navigating their various perils.
With a native middle-eastern accent closely matching her adoptive sister's own, Vari is fluent in a variety of languages, old and present. Her native tongue is Qashanish, as evident by the redworlder physiology. Additionally, she maintains full fluency in English, and a wide understanding of the since dead and evolved language, Old Qashanish.

GOALS
- Blend in. In the past Vari has been outed for being a machine by numerous orbital station scanners. Finding a way to look or be more biological is something she sorely wants, especially when she is confused for Harvester infiltrators and has to deal with checkpoint security turrets.
- Continue her research. As a medical researcher, Vari is carrying out genetic and cellular research in hopes of uncovering new ways to treat injuries, diseases, and other afflictions that people suffer on the daily.
- Maintain her relationship. On February 1313 OSC, Vari started dating Ves'Narun, one that has been going strong ever since. Neither have shown any intentions of deviating from that, and Vari certainly intends on keeping it that way.
- Find the lost technology. Vari's mask contained the outline for a full suit of ancient Redworlder armor with significant technological features. She wants to find out more about this, and if it's possible - collect them.

RELATIONSHIPS
- Ashton Winters and Vari have a complicated relationship that could be construed as semi-rivals under the right circumstances. The two are efficient work colleagues, and good friends going back years; but they share different agendas, and sometimes they don't coincide. That hasn't stopped the two from finding middle-ground, however.
- Ves'Narun holds a special place in Vari's heart. Fiercely loyal and romantically involved; Vari enjoys her company thoroughly. The two share each others company often. Whether it's through shared hobbies, or exploring Erf; Vari has always had a deep attraction for adventure, and Ves more than fulfills that. Ves's caring heart for Carol Guse; Vari's adoptive daughter, only solidifies her feelings for her. For Ves, the relationship has been a work-in-progress. She's never been quite sure if it was love or loyalty that drove her into Vari's arms. None of that's stopped her from trying to make it work - even if it'll never make sense.
- When it comes to Adrian Henderson, Vari is conflicted. She appreciates him for all the help he's provided in upgrading her equipment, and training her to be a formidable fighter; but she knows very little about who he really is. All the same, Adrian's stance is mixed. Up front, he'll say Vari is a valuable companion - as a friend, a fighter, or all points in between. In quiet confidence, he worries she's short-fuze dynamite; loud in life, but quick to burn - with a flash of grief when she finally goes.
- If you asked Vari's opinion on Zaja'Nazari, you'd receive nothing but sisterly praise, partly due to everything Zaja has done for Vari, and because she's always been there to support her. There isn't much she wouldn't do for Zaja, even if she comes across as hesitant at times. The same could be said for Zaja in kind. She might've been swept up into sisterhood, but that didn't put a dent in her duty to her family. Her only fears are for Vari's impulsive side - and whether it'll ruin her before it kills her.
- As the adopting parent of Caroline Guse, Vari is always keeping an eye on her daughter in one way or another. She's often marking her homework, teaching her how to tailor on the side, and giving her the shoulder she needs to lean on when things aren't quite going her way. She just wishes Carol would find it in herself to be more confident. Were it only so easy, of course. Living up to her parent's expectations has been Carol's life. Idolizing her guardian has been everything to the semi-spacer. Fixing the years of neglect, insufficiency, and babysitter abuse, on the other hand - that's a mountain Carol knows she needs a helicopter to climb.

HISTORY The problem that just won't go away, Vari'Surkovat is a figure who seems to die only to reappear not long after, leaving an awful mess and tall tales in her wake. Those who met and witnessed her tell of those stories, leaving it hard to identify truth over tale.

THE BROOM CLOSET Vari'Surkovat wound up on Lebedrovez, the 'Broom Closet' out of the blue on the 15th of December as another stranger with no past, present or future planned. She had no identity, no friends and no possessions - bar the clothes on her back and the rifle in her hands. She lived in the poor district, a slum - a prison. Actions were taken, movements were made and time went by as it usually did. Some became acquaintances with the stranger, and some the opposite.
One of the few who knew her for what she was? Steve. A security officer from the rich district, and her babysitter for a few months whilst she gained citizenship. [ LOCKED: Who Am I? ] He was honestly creeped out by her. He was able to put it aside to let her help keep an eye on his kids. Mostly, his two teens, instead of the little ones. He was terrified about what'd happen if he let her near a five-year-old. In the end though, she'd done a service for his family, so he was ready to bend over backwards for her - within reason.
Most of the Rich District didn't know her, or even look at her - she only really made a small name for herself with a few of the security teams. Every so often she'd be contacted to serve as a low-level informant with Steve as a middleman. She was reliable, but she wasn't in deep with any gangs, so promising intel was hard to come by. Then her apartment blew up, and she became a distinct threat to the station. A few security companies organized searches for her, but turned up empty handed. The manhunt ran for about a month after she'd vanished, with many still worried she might somehow come back into the light.
There was also the place she lived at, her neighbors - and not neighbors. The people who encountered her were fairly scared of Vari. She'd killed people, crunched a number of bums, and smashed more than a handful of squatters. Some in self-defense, some of it - like the pawn shop owner - not so much. She'd managed enough fame to balance out her infamy to make people prefer her over foreign janitors. When her apartment blew up, people weren't sure if they wanted to cheer her on as a martyr, or try to forget about the nut that tried to de-orbit the station. What is agreed on however is the confusion of where she went. No one really was sure what happened to Vari'Surkovat after the incidents at Lebedrovez. Some were convinced she survived and was either somewhere on the station still or fled amidst the chaos. Then there were those who believed she died, and that it was the end of Vari's story.
